If you say you have never sat / driven a Suzuki FX in your life then either you’re a rookie when it comes to cars or you’re too young to know what cars are.
Suzuki FX 800 sounds like a heavy bike name or if you hear FX 800 then it sounds like some model of model of Ferrari but truth is Suzuki FX happens to be 800cc hatchback offered by Suzuki in the 1980s.
Suzuki FX offered beige interior before it was cool. It was simpler times, most of the cars came in two options only; either with or without AC and FX also offered both. Powered by a 800cc 3 cylinder engine which is pretty much the same that is being used in Mehran today without much alteration.
FX was offered for a couple of thousands as was in production from late 1970s till 1988 and was later replaced by Alto (Mehran) in 1989. Despite the fact that the last brand new FX was offered 17 years back the car is still a common sight all across Pakistan.
Suzuki FX had one unique feature which was that the car’s trunk door was its rear windshield. That’s it… No frame, no proper steel door or anything; the rear windshield used to be its trunk door.
FX was offered in various colors (all solid) since metallic colors were associated with luxury and FX was a common man’s car. The most common colors of FX were; cream, white, red, royal blue, grayish blue, pistachio green, Pakistan green, non-metallic silver and brown.
In those times FX was the car to have for any youngster or housewife and to this day if you find a well maintained FX then it can fetch a higher price than its successor Suzuki Alto / Mehran because FX is still loved by few.
Suzuki FX received two face lifts happened, When FX was introduced in 1979 it was offered with black interior and round headlights then in 1982 square headlights came & later in 1984 black interior was replaced with beige interior
Over the years the car has seen many after-market modifications and not just that some are using it as taxi too in the northern part of country. To this day; cheap maintenance of this car makes it preferred choice for many.
